MALE ROOMMATE NEEDED OFF CAMPUS! [26 Jul 2007|01:41pm]
jcb7330
I need to rent my boyfriend's room at his house by the fall because he wants to move in with me. It's $360 total with everything included. This is a great neighborhood with lots of college kids! 10 minutes to RIT/MCC, 10 minute WALK to U of R! This would be Paige Street, intersecting with Barton/Brooks Ave. The three guys living there will be juniors at RIT.

Contact me at jcb7330@rit.edu if you want to come check the place out! You can move in as soon as you want! (We're looking for someone to stay for at least the school year, until May).

Thanks!

Joanna

jack's mannequin [19 Feb 2007|11:31pm]

kimpossible84
I know this is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone had two tickets for the Jack's Mannequin show on Thursday. I've been trying ticketmaster in hopes some more might be available, with no luck. I've looked on eBay, also with no luck. So I'm just wondering if anyone here has some they are looking to unload, or if they know someone.

Or if anyone here knows of other places online people go to sell tickets besides ebay...thanks :)

Mount Hope Cemetery, located on Mount Hope Ave, was founded in 1838 as a City Cemetery and is the final resting grounds for many important historical figures, such as Susan B Anthony, Frederick Douglas, John Baker, John Jacob Bausch, Henry Lomb and many more. Now almost 170 years later, the cemetery has fallen into disrepair. Many graves have been destroyed or fallen over due to ground shifts. Many mausoleums have been defiled and many graves have been desecrated with graffiti. Trash is left all over the cemetery and includes condoms, beer cans and paper. The Cemetery is city owned and there is a foundation to repair the cemetery. However, the money is not used to clean the cemetery up and the cemetery is falling further and further into disrepair. If you feel strongly that the City should take action to clean up the cemetery, please sign the petition below.

Please sign and spread the word. The cemetery desperatly needs everyones help.

Horror Movie Screening at Buffalo Central Terminal [05 Jun 2006|02:31am]

xiceninex
On June 23rd at 6pm EST, Red Scream Films LLC, in association with The Central Terminal Restoration Corporation, Buffalo Nickel Productions, Sound Video Solutions, Fright World and The Voodoo Dollies will present a sneak peek screening of the feature film Prison of the Psychotic Damned to Benefit the Buffalo Central Terminal restoration efforts.

Prison of the Psychotic Damned is the first feature film by Buffalo based production company Red Scream Films LLC. This suspense-horror film is about five ghost hunters who come to the Terminal to investigate whether or not it really deserves its reputation as one of the most haunted places in the world. When the sun sets they find the terrifying answer.

Prison of the Psychotic Damned was shot on location in the Western New York area with the majority of the film shot inside the Buffalo Central Train Terminal. The film was directed and edited by D.W. Kann from a screenplay by Red Scream Films LLC CEO David R Williams who also produced. Plans call for several of the film’s cast, including stars Melantha Blackthorne and Demona Bast, to attend. They will answer questions about the film and sign autographs.

“This will be a unique film experience,” said Williams, “The audience will not only be the first audience to get to see this film outside a small group of production people, but they will also get the opportunity to watch the film where it was shot.”

Built in 1929, the Central Terminal is a massive art deco masterpiece that time, weather, uncaring owners, and vandals have not been kind to.

“The purpose of this event is not to promote our film,” said Williams, “The purpose is to help restore the Buffalo Central Terminal. We were shooting here for a full nine days and everybody, cast and crew alike, fell in love with the place and by the end of the shoot, nobody wanted to leave. This is our way of giving something back and hopefully generating publicity for the terminal and the efforts of the CTRC to save it.”

Digital Projection equipment is being provided by Sound Video Solutions. punk girl-band The Voodoo Dollies will perform the opening credits song “Suffer Cake” as well as several other numbers. Special BCT copies of the film will be available for purchase.

Where: THE BUFFALO CENTRAL TERMINAL!
Date and Time: June 23rd, 2006…Doors open at 6pm.
Digital Production Services by Sound Video Solutions.

These pictures we're taken a couple weeks ago.  However, I do have to find homes for these kittens by the end of the week or take them to a shelter. Previously the very tortoise shell one was very shy but she has become more outgoing and playfull recently.  They are all awesome but I cannot take care of them all any longer.  If you are post a comment and I will reply with my phone number so that we can arrange something.

Also, If you ahve any informations about shelters in the area that don't euthenize, please let me know.

Thanks!

LGBT Issues inside Rochester City Schools... [21 May 2005|05:09pm]

now
Hello Everyone:

I live in Buffalo, but grew up in Rochester and attended Rochester City Schools from 3rd until 12th grades.
I graduated from Wilson Magnet High School in 1997. Eight years ago, there was no mention of gay people in my high school whatsoever. It was assumed we were not there. I was very much closeted in high school, but when I got to college I became less so. When I found the same situation at Canisius, I started a gay-straight alliance there.

I have been in correspondence with a woman who works inside a city high school and has been experiencing harassment because of the GSA club she started there two years ago. I am sorry to hear that things have not improved (and may have even gotten worse) in the eight years since I’ve been a student in the RCSD.

Please, please please take a few moments to read her story, and to write letters to the D&C/City/Empty Closet regarding this issue… Thanks.

i just moved back here from philly where there was an endless supply of photo labs that did better than walmart and not as good as professional...does anyone know of any decent high quality consumer labs in the area? better than Ritz though? i was getting a set of 4x6 prints off an AGAFA lazer photo printer and a photo CD for $15 at the place i was going to in philly, so something similar would be great.

I have loved Jennifer Garner since Alias first came out like 4 years ago.  I remember babysitting my nephew and watching it at my sisters house, and then she got into it too.  I have to see this movies on opening night, so who wants to take me?
